Highland Hall Prepares for New Buildings

An extraordinary new campus for Highland Hall Waldorf School is on the way, thanks to a community effort led by the Capital Campaign Committee, and supported by the Board of Trustees, the Leadership Team, and the Building Committee.

Our new campus will include facilities that will support our Waldorf curriculum, our students and our teachers. Our goal is to use sustainable and green construction methods and technologies to enhance our physical environment.

The Building Tomorrow Today vision for Highland Hall will be led by a passionate group of Highland Hall parents:

Vicky & Duffy Waldorf - Honorary Campaign Chairs

Building Tomorrow Today

Highland Hall founders broke ground in Northridge in 1964, having outgrown their original North Hollywood location after nine years.  Just three years later ground breaking occurred again, to build what is now our lower school.  It was a watershed occasion, illuminated by the vision each of these founders held for Highland Hall.

To continue to realize their vision of Highland Hall as an ever-evolving, forward looking institution that meets the needs of students for a relevant, transformative education, the School is once again embarking on a building campaign that will focus on the following areas:

  • Renovation of the lower school grades 1-8 classrooms.
  • Science center comprising a chemistry/ biology/ physics lab, and computer and prep labs.
  • Theater complex that will feature a moveable proscenium, fully flexible seating, and stage technologies, including lighting and sound equipment.
  • Reduce the campus carbon footprint of greenhouse gases by incorporating energy efficient building technologies.
