College Counseling

Highland Hall Waldorf School offers a rigorous and demanding curriculum that prepares the student not only for college but for life after high school. Most students that graduate from Highland Hall do go on to four-year colleges and universities. The college advisor provides personal attention to students and their parents during this demanding process.

The college admissions process is a rite of passage for the student. This is a transformative time. The goal of Waldorf education is to “develop free human beings who are able, of themselves, to impart purpose and direction to their lives.” The college admissions process is an important part of the student's educational journey.  As the student enters into the adult world, the college advisor helps separate the myths from the truths and assists with identifying colleges that will meet the student’s academic, personal, and professional needs.

The student is also guided through the on-line application process, essay writing and receives necessary tools that are needed to be successful in the college admissions process.

Parents are encouraged to call the college advisor for an appointment and/or to answer any questions. apinckney@highlandhall.org
Open communication between the college advisor, student, parent/s and colleges is greatly emphasized throughout the college search process.
