Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist provides administrative support to the administrative team and faculty. Excellent customer service and administrative skills are required. An ability to multitask in a busy front office while keeping accurate records is essential. This position is responsible for supporting enrollment and student records, handling student health issues, fulfilling records requests, and maintaining immunization records. Strong proficiency and experience in Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Experience with Microsoft 365 and student management systems are a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet and assist parents, visitors, students, and faculty members
- Track attendance for grades 1-12
- Tend student injuries and manage health issues
- Manage parent volunteers
- Organize field trips
- Maintain student records
- Work with Registrar/Operations Manager to maintain accurate student records, both paper and electronic
- Maintain supplies and cleanliness in the kitchen and front office
- Order supplies
- Serve hot lunch
- Proficiency with computer software applications, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work patiently with multiple interruptions
- High levels of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work with children with warmth, sensitivity, and patience
- Must be able to clearly communicate with others to understand them and to be understood
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and manage priorities
- Must be able to effectively use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment to conduct business
- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds from the floor to four feet above the floor
- Experience working in a small office environment
- High School diploma required; college degree preferred

First Grade Class Teacher 2026-2027
Highland Hall is seeking a First Grade Class Teacher to begin the journey starting in the 2026-27 School Year.
Qualifications/Responsibilities
A Bachelor’s Degree is required and a Waldorf Teacher training certificate (or near completion) is preferred. Preference is given to those with prior teaching experience. Candidates should have initiative and a willingness to work in an inclusive community. A collaborative nature is important.
Our beautiful 11-acre campus sits atop a grassy hill in a scenic neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. Our children both learn and play in an environment filled with open, grassy space and a variety of trees, with opportunity for nature walks. We have a garden and chickens, and an orchard where the children learn to cultivate fruits, vegetables, and other plants. Our campus also has a large playing field and gymnasium where the children enjoy a variety of physical activities. We also have a kind and supportive faculty.
Salary
Salaries range commensurate with experience ($55,000-72,000). The comprehensive benefits package includes medical and dental insurance, a 403(b)-retirement plan, vision, life and long-term disability insurance. Tuition remission is provided for full- time faculty children.

Parent Child Teacher- Part-Time Position (25-28 hours) or Salaried with Bridge Program
This position is responsible for holding classes in a variety of environments, both indoors and outdoors, for parents and their children ranging from two months to three years. In addition, this position is responsible for attending faculty and mentoring meetings as well as liaising with the administration, faculty, and parents, as needed.
Essential Functions
• Facilitate educational opportunities in the form of discussions and readings to provide inspiration, tools, and support for parenting
• Provide families with a warm introduction to Waldorf education and Highland Hall Waldorf School
• Thoughtful planning of the daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms of the class
• Maintain open communication with parents
• Participate in school community and public relations events (e.g. open house)
• Other duties as directed to meet the needs of the school.
Education / Certifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• Waldorf teaching or LIFEWAYS certification from a recognized institution
• Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
• Current TB clearance
