Special Event - Celebrating Black History - Feb. 6

The Festivals Committee and Diversity Committee are delighted to bring Gerald C. Rivers to Highland Hall for a community event celebrating Black History Month. The event will be held in the gym for our middle and high school students as Mr. Rivers will perform speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Other guests will include Broadway vocalist, actor, and author Charles Holt and the Peace Player Drummers.

Gerald C. Rivers, known as The Voice of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., grew up in Compton and has made it his life's work to uplift and inspire millions of people all over the world through his stunning and powerful renditions of Dr. King. His presentations for schools, corporations, churches, colleges and community organizations have taken him throughout the US and internationally. He is also known for his voice-over work in cartoons, animated series and video games.

Charles Holt is an actor, singer, and producer who has starred in acclaimed Broadway productions including Smokey Joe's Café, Jesus Christ Superstar, and The Lion King.
