In honor of the growing darkness and in anticipation of winter, the first, second and third grades are planning an evening lantern walk at 5:30pm Friday the 12th of November. The children will walk the school campus while carrying their handmade lanterns and singing songs about our inner and outer lights that we seek to kindle at this time of year. It will last about half an hour.

Please RSVP with your class teacher to let us know if your child will participate in this event. All students will be meeting outside their classrooms near the courtyard. The teachers will have the lanterns ready. At the conclusion of the walk your child is welcome to take their lantern home, bringing light into the darkness with them.

If you have extra homemade lanterns lying around, you are welcome to bring those along for yourself. Any younger or older siblings are also welcome to attend the event. The atmosphere we hope to create is one of reverence and quiet.
