Kenya Strong, Lower School Class Teacher

BA Psychology University of New York; MA Elementary Education, Regent University; graduate of the Waldorf Institute of Southern California.
Ms. Strong is a committed elementary school teacher with a particular passion for Waldorf Education. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of New York and her Masters in Elementary Education from Regent University in Virginia. She is a graduate of WISC, the Waldorf Institute of Southern California. She has worked this year in the second grade at Sumac Elementary School in a dual language program, and has been a student at Cal State Los Angeles receiving her multi-subject teaching credential for the state of California.

Previously Ms. Strong has served as a tutor at Huntington Learning Center where she served students in first grade through high school gain mastery of various subjects. She also served as the facilitator of the after-school enrichment program at PEAK Adventures. PEAK Adventures served students in several schools including Simi Valley, Oak Park and Mariposa School. Activities at PEAK included are, marine biology, cooking and science for students in kindergarten through the fifth grade. Last summer Ms. Strong enjoyed a tour of the Waldorf schools of Europe, including the original school in Stuttgart, Germany, and found the experience one which deepened her understanding and commitment to teaching out of Waldorf Educational principles.
