As part of 7th-Grade Physics, the students learned about Newton's Laws of Motion and the Six Simple Machines (The Lever, The Inclined Plane, The Wedge, The Screw, The Wheel and Axle, and the Pulley).They studied the work of Rube Goldberg, who was an American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor. He is best known for his cartoons of gadgets performing simple tasks in a series of complicated steps. The 7th-grade students created Physics projects based on the Six Simple Machines and inspired by Rube Goldberg's inventions.
