Preserving the Harvest through Fermentation
Fermentation as a method of food preservation can be found in every culture of the world and dates back thousands of years. From yogurt and pickles, to wine and beer, fermentation makes it all happen. In this workshop, Sandra Trinidad will lead us through an exploration of fermentation, from basic concepts and nutritional benefits, to learning safe food handling practices when fermenting. Sandra will guide the class in making two recipes together, giving participants the skills they need to start fermenting at home.
Join us on November 18th from 9-11 am in the Highland Hall Garden under the big mulberry tree. Space is limited, please RSVP via link below.
The class fee is $20. Snacks will be provided and kids are welcome! Sponsored by the Garden Gnome Society at Highland Hall.
