Grace Notes
The Grace Notes is a group of alumni, current parents, and alumni parents, who appreciate and enjoy the stellar music program at Highland Hall Waldorf School. Our curriculum integrates music and song throughout the curriculum from preschool through twelfth grade. (Click here for details about our music program). Through their ideas, energy and support, the Grace Notes coalesce the community around projects which augment and enrich the music program.
The Grace Notes includes accomplished former Highland Hall students: Niv Ashkenazi, B.M. and M.M. from The Juilliard School; Dawn Bertani, B.M. from Manhattan School of Music; Dusty Moon, music producer; Shira Samuels-Shragg, music major at Swarthmore college; current parents Alexander (Sandor) Black, Eric and Dana Ullerich, Sue Drew & Jon Lind, Beverly D'Angelo, Cara & Jonathan Lisco, Jane Hwangbo & Craig Rosenblatt, George & Angharad Caceres; and alumni parents Robyn Samuels & Bruce Shragg, Michael and Martina Turner, and Guy & Jennifer Moon.
The Grace Notes is currently working on:
• providing additional coaching instruction for our students; and
• updating aged instruments, including pianos.

Grace Notes Spotlight:
Highland Hall Alum Niv Ashkenazi is the Artist in Residence at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) and will perform as a soloist with the Long Beach Symphony. Niv has made several Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center appearances, and has performed in Europe, the Middle East, and across North America. His conviction that the impact of music serves people beyond the concert stage motivates him to collaborate on projects that create a strong emotional bond with his audience.
