Connecting Within and With Others - A Biography and Social Art Workshop
with Patricia and Joseph Rubano

As parents and teachers, we know that educating our children, year by year, is an art. Might there also be an art to finding meaning in the way our own personal biographies have unfolded? In stepping back to look into and share our own lives, might that help us gain insight and become interested in the uniqueness of others so that we can cultivate a true social art, an art that unfolds in community?
Biography and Social Art offers ways to explore our biographies, and to find patterns of growth, development, and transformation.
The workshop includes exercises using artistic media, such as writing and drawing, as well as speaking and--most importantly--listening. Sharing elements of our own lives, and listening to others share theirs, allows interest and empathy to naturally arise. These are steps towards greater social understanding, a tremendous need of our time.
At the heart of biography work is the understanding that each life story is a unique revelation of intention and deep wisdom.
Patricia Rubano is the Director of the Biography and Social Art Program. She has been working with Waldorf education and Anthroposophy for over 30 years.
Joseph Rubano is a faculty member for B&SA, Biographical Counselor, Spacial Dynamic
movement educator and poet. He brings 40 years of meditation and inner work to his work with individuals, couples and groups.
