School Transportation

Getting To Our Campus

Highland Hall Waldorf School, with its beautiful and unique campus in Northridge, is a destination school which draws families from all over the Los Angeles area including Santa Monica, Hollywood, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Culver City.

Families with longer commutes generally set up carpools with other families in their neighborhood.  Highland Hall provides a Carpool Directory to help families connect with each other. Carpooling services can also be used to help with transportation.

Public Transportation

Some of our older students avail themselves of public transportation to attend Highland Hall.  In addition to numerous local and express routes in the San Fernando Valley, there is an express bus service from the Westside to Northridge via the Commuter Express 573 which a number of families from the Westside currently utilize.

The Northbound Commuter Express 573 bus picks up at:

  • Wilshire & Glendon - 7:12 am

The bus arrives at Superior & Balboa (one block from school) at approximately 7:48 am.  School starts at 8 am for High School and 8:10 for the Lower School.

The return (southbound) 573 Express bus picks up at Nordhoff and Balboa (4 blocks from school) at 5:24 pm and arrives at Wilshire & Glendon at 6:02 pm.

Students often participate in after school clubs and sports making this pick-up time preferable.  (There is the possibility of a future earlier pick-up time as well.)
